HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX 2022

This race was so disappointing for George but even more so for Charles that by the last laps drama, it was just exhausting. It was an eventful race, but was weirdly quiet. to me. Another classic Ferrari destroying the race for themselves situation. This was just so typical. Happy that Max won from p10 though! Max is sooo happy with this win he did not expect and that is so sweet.

Free Practice 1 and 2 were incredibly uneventful

Free Practice 3

- before this weekend, Seb got an Instagram account for the first time only to announce he’s retiring at the end of the season

- This session is super rainy

- Charles does another perfect 360 spin in the rain and it’s SO impressive

- Seb crashes and red flags, it’s just wet out there still

- Seb has a tiny Lego version of himself on his helmet

Qualifying

- WOW those are some dark and scary storm clouds

- Out in Q1: Yuki, Albon, Seb, Gasly, and Latifi lol

- Out in Q2: Perez, Zhou, Magnussen, Stroll, Lil Schu

- Perez got out because Kevin blocked him

- Max reports no power in the last 2 minutes and they can’t fix it so he will start 10th!! A shocking qualifying for Red Bull

- It looked like Sainz is gonna get pole which was going to make me mad with Charles in second BUT THEN GEORGE puts in a great consistent all green lap and GETS HIS FIRST POLE and Hamilton pits so he isn’t gonna start near the top and it’s so great for George, he is so happy!!

Race

- ahhh it’s overcast and drizzling

- The Red Bulls changed their mguk after problems but no penalties

- The Red Bulls are slow getting away for the formation lap… so that’s worrying

- George retains the lead after both Ferraris super challenge him, but weirdly neither Red Bull is able to get a lot of positions made up so they’re still in 8 and 9 by the end of lap 1

- Virtual safety car for debris from Stroll colliding with Albon

- A number of cars had small contact incidents on the first lap, first few corners, including Seb, Albon, Stroll, and Kevin

- Alonso is furious at Ocon for getting majorly in his way on the start and says never in his life have I seen a defense like that

- 4/70 Perez reports a strange noise from the engine at high gears but they say they checked it and it’s okay

- Black and orange flag to have Kevin pit so he can get rid of damage

- Lovely moves from Max biding his time passing both Alpines

- 13/70 Max reports clutch slip issue, they give him a fail code to follow, but that is very frustrating

- Both Russell and Sainz have slow stops. Ferrari could have benefited from Russell’s slow stop but of course Ferrari ruined it by also having a slow stop themselves

- Charles over cuts Sainz in the pit stop! Now Charles is second and has had way more pace than Sainz this whole race

- 24/60 Ok Ocon gets MAJORLY in Alonso’s way AGAIN and everyone knows that Alonso has got to be furious and in the squabble, Daniel gets past them into 10th

- 31/70 Charles passes George for the lead!! Some great racing from the both of them and Charles did an awesome move to get by

- 33/70 Max reports it’s drizzling more now

- 35/70 Yuki has a ridiculous spin in the middle of the track, come on

- Red Bull gets George with a double undercut so Russell is behind

- 40/70 Ferrari pits Charles and puts him on HARD TIRES which has been TERRIBLE for everyone this whole time AND right as it’s starting to drizzle and get slippery

- Max gets past Charles

- 43/70 max has a bizarre 360 spin on a slippery part of the track and perfectly recovers it but it was weird, so now Charles is ahead again

- 45/70 Max gets past Charles again because the tires Ferrari put on Charles are soooooooo awful, so usual Ferrari

- Ferrari has another 5 second stop for Sainz

- Daniel hits Stroll on a corner and will probably get a penalty

- Ughhh then it becomes Hamilton in third and second squabble and of course Hamilton gets second because I am sure the team ensured that and toto has this little smile, ugh

- Now it’s reported rain coming on the last lap

- I am so done at this point, somehow it has become a Hamilton praise sorry

- Bottas pulls over with no power and triggers a virtual safety car which neutralizes the end of the race

- Charles radios "is the car okay?" Like he hears a problem which he probably does but of course ferrari says yes of course ugh

- Real rain arrives in the last lap

- Max wins! P10 to P1. Then Hamilton, then Russell, Sainz, Perez, Leclerc. And Charles was the fastest one out there but Ferrari just ruined it for him again. They are breaking his spirit and it is horrible to watch

FRENCH GRAND PRIX 2022

This race was surprisingly dramatic for the French Grand Prix. Very typical Ferrari just throwing away everything, one with a mechanical failure and the other with just strategy nonsense. Max had a quiet race at front and they were talking to the start how Hamilton could challenge Max at front and, of course, that never happened.

The big story was Charles crashing from the lead and I don’t care what they say, I know it was not just Charles failure but a mechanical failure. Especially when you looked at what happened last race for Ferrari. Goodness. This race was exhausting.

Charles screaming “NOOOO” into his radio will haunt me forever. This should never have happened to him.

If I had to liken Ferrari to a movie, it would be Titanic. Grand, expensive, impressive, historic, but it ends the same way every time. Honestly, it’s too nice to call them Titanic.

Practice 1

- Nyck DeVries in the Mercedes test driving for Hamilton! Hamilton waiting around in the back off the garage, Ted complaining we’ve never seen this before hahaha

- Perez has a wind produced spin

- Curbs really giving people problems

Practice 2

- little schu almost goes into the barrier and it’s dramatic with a lot of dust coming up but he saves it

- Nyck DeVries is in the commentary box

- Pierre really upset about traffic, looked like an Alpine?

Free Practice 3

- Sainz will start with a 10 place grid penalty for new parts

- Both Sainz and Kevin will start at the back of the grid for engine penalties and new parts

- This bump at turn 5 is ridiculous

- Lil Schu got majorly in the way of Maxy and he was not happy

Qualifying

- Albon has a spin at the last minute in Q1 and ruins Hamilton’s lap and both Mercedes’ were at risk any way so here’s hoping

- Lil Schu got out of Q1 but then had the lap deleted and got into the bottom 5 for it

- Daniel also had a lap deleted but managed to stay in

- Out in Q1: Gasly, Stroll, Zhou, Lil Schu and Latifi

- Controversy about whether Lil Schu actually crossed the line to get his time deleted but the fia are sticking to it

- Out in q2: ricciardo, Ocon, Bottas, Seb and Albon

- Charles on pole!! Max in second and Perez in third! Then hamilton, Norris and Russell

Race

- ughhh they’re going on about Hamilton’s 300th race blahhhhh

- Charles KEEPS lead and max in second and ugh Hamilton gets into third

- Ughhhh Yuki spins and yellow flags it it was an Ocon hitting a curb and hitting Tsunoda, soooo typical

- Ok Sainz didn’t do anything on the start and by the end of the first lap he’s still in 19th

- Somehow Alonso raced his way up to top 5 on the opening corner honestly

- 5 second time penalty for Ocon for causing a collision hahaha

- First laps are all about when Max will pass Charles

- 8/53 second track limits warning for Perez

- 17/53 Max pits first and has a good stop

- So far this has been all about tire temps

- This race is exactly what I thought would happen so far, ie the commentators going on and on about Sainz racing his way up from the back

- 18/53 CHARLES CRASHES AT 100 mph AT LE BEAUSET AND HE IS IN THE BARRIER AND HE WAS LEADING THE RACE AND HE IS OUT OF THE RACE NOW, and it was 100% something wrong with the car and nobody knows for sure what the problem was yet but it sounds like the throttle jammed JUST LIKE WHAT HE STRUGGLED WITH AT THE END OF LAST RACE which means FERRARI HASNT FIXED THE PROBLEM

- This is the most heartbreaking, horrifying moment for Charles

- Max saw the crash and radioed in "is he ok?" And they tell him yes Charles is ok

- When they radio to Charles, he is yelling about the throttle and then like a full minute of him breathing super hard and the team asks several times if he is ok and he doesn’t respond and then he just screams "NOOOOOOOOOO"

- This is so horrible for Charles, you just can’t imagine

- Yuki also retires from ocon’s hit

- 21/53 safety car in and green flag

- 23/53 contact between Zhou and Lil Schu so brief yellow flag and under investigation and looks like Zhou just clipped Schumacher

- HA now as if things aren’t horrifying enough for Ferrari, Sainz also gets a 5 second time penalty for an unsafe release under the safety car hahahah

- Then they report the wrong penalty to Sainz as being a 5 second stop and go penalty when it’s only 5 seconds and he’s like it isn’t a stop and go and they’re like oh you’re right

- Yep 5 second time penalty for Zhou

- 32/53 Hamilton goes off track briefly

- 36/53 they give Stroll info and he’s like "yes yes yes leave me alone"

- 38/53 Kevin sort of hits Latifi while Latifi is trying to pass him and then it’s kind of ugly driving and then looks like eventually Kevin has to pit and retire

- 41/53 Sainz wants to stop to try and catch the top 3 but the team is like no and even Paul is like he’s never gonna catch them in time I’d be pits now, I don’t know what he’s thinking

- AND THEN Ferrari tells him to pit WHILE SAINZ is actually passing Perez and trying to pull over an overtake

- 42/53

- George Russell hits Perez on a corner and there’s contact and Perez gets back into the race without the going around the bollards

- THEN ON THE NEXT LAP they pit Sainz when he just did the overtake in Perez and now he’s back in 9th and Ferrari just threw away a third and everyone is like WHAT IS FERRARI DOING?? This is literally just SUCH A TYPICAL FERRARI RACE, literally no idea what they are doing as always

- They interview Charles and he says it was his mistake, taking full blame like he always does. Ugh it’s so painful because I know it wasn’t just him and this is truly devastating

- 49/53 Zhou stops at the side of the track to retire and it triggers a virtual safety car

- At the end of the safety car and at the restart, George gets past Perez for third!! A great pass

- George and Perez are going at it for the last laps and it’s super dramatic

- Possibly Seb hits lance in the last corner of the last lap? But it’s just a little contact, after this crazy race it just feels like yep add it to the list

- Maxy wins!! Hamilton in second ugh, and Russell in third and Perez close behind in fourth and Sainz in fifth with Ferrari throwing away fourth with their strategy

- Ughhhhh now they are going on about how it’s the first double Mercedes podium of this year and that is so exhausting

- Ok someone in the commentary box didn’t know their mic was on because as David Coulthard was asking Max a zillion long questions, you just heard someone say "STOP TALKING"

- AHA!! In the cooldown room, George was watching the replay of Charles crashing and Lewis was like "he did a mistake" and then the red Bull engineer who was in there with them (max wasn’t in there yet) said that Ferrari said over the radio that it was "throttle blockage" SEE I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT WASNT JUST A CHARLES MISTAKE, even though he took the full blame for it and said it was his mistake only, IT WAS FERRARI AGAIN AND WE ALL KNOW THIS

- Suspiciously after the Red Bull guy says what Ferrari really said, the sound completely went out CONSPIRACY

- For some reason, Lewis is laying down in the floor in the cooldown room, I mean what is going on. It’s hot outside but not that hot

AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX 2022

Free Practice 1

• Ugh it’s an experimental weekend

• Lando has to stop because his car is smoking under his seat and it’s on fire soooo

• Red flag for a Haas losing some kind of ribbon thing that looks like a snake but it turns out it was part of the track all along?

Qualifying

• Out in Q1: ricciardo, Vettel, Stroll, Zhou, Latifi

• Lando is having a really hard time braking and keeps going over the exit of a turn and says he’s scared to hit there brakes because of how hard it is to control the McLaren

• Out in Q2: Gasly, Albon, Bottas, Tsunoda, Norris

• Perez under investigation for being out of bounds for a lap in q2 that allowed h him to get into Q3 so probably a penalty coming

• HAMILTON CRASHES by a mistake all his own and is totally fine and goes into the wall so it’s great because he just made a mistake like any other human being and he’s going to have to own that and it’s GREAT, it finally came true

• GEORGE RUSSELL ALSO CRASHES and now both Mercedes have crashed out of qualifying!! They both just crashed by themselves!! I am so sad for George but SO HAPPY that Mercedes is having a horrible day!!

• Now George is being investigated for entering the track without permission for crossing the track to walk back to the pits and it’s RIDICULOUS

• MAX ON POLE! And Charles in second!! And Sainz in third meh

Free practice 2

• not a lot to report, Seb lost a little bit of car, Charles made a mistake and could see that it was on the big tv screen while they were doing an onboard and commented on that

Sprint race

• Perez demoted for start position for exceeding track limits

• Alpine failed to take the tire blankets on Alonso’s car before the formation lap because of an electrical problem so they have to wheel him off to the grid

• Zhou’s car turns off on the last corner of the formation lap and causes a SECOND formation lap, I don’t know what’s going on but there is weirdness right now ???

• Alonso can’t start from a mechanical problem

• Zhou does start from pit lane

• Max keeps the lead, somehow Sainz gets past Charles in to second but then Charles immediately takes it back

• Gasly in a first corner collision and turns out it was Hamilton getting pinched

• Albon and a Norris incident noted where Alby pushed Norris of the track a bit

• Sainz is going after Charles like crazy and it’s super dangerous and I think it’s because he is dangerously overconfident after the stupid race win last week and it’s making both Ferraris slower and I hate it

• Albon gets a five second time penalty for the Norris incident even though I thought Albon gave the place back

• Sergio does an amazing pass on lil Schu

• Oh NO Seb is reversing out of the gravel after a small touch with Alby, completely crazy

• Hahahaha Hamilton CANNOT get past the Haas of Mick Schumacher and it’s so beautiful

• Aww Hamilton does get Lil Schu with only a couple laps left

• Vettel has to box on the last lap with damage

• Max wins the sprint!!

Race

• there is so much roaring and orange smoke that the cameras can barely get shots of the car!

• They’re saying that some of the fans have behaved deplorably? What’s that about

• Max keeps lead, Charles keeps second!

• Perez fighting George for fourth and then tries to go around the outside and gets punted into the gravel and gets a big hole in his side pod but keeps going and is dead last NOOO

• Tsunoda and Albon noted for possible starting procedure infringement and then they say it was fine

• Hahahah this orange smoke is so thick it’s making it so hard to see

• George gets a five second time penalty for causing a collision with Perez

• Charles is giving Maxy a true run for the lead!!

• So many drivers getting track limit warnings

• Charles gets the lead!

• 26/71 they have to retire Perez for damage NOO

• Gasly gets a 5 second penalty for track limits

• Norris gets 5 second time penalty for track limits

• 40/71 Seb goes off into the gravel when Gasly hit him and then dangerously reverses back on the track

• 5 second penalty for Gasly causing collision with Seb

• CARLOS CAR BLOWS and he has a REALLY SCARY INCIDENT parking by the Marshalls and it’s on an uphill slope and doesn’t have a brake on so it’s ROLLING AWAY and ON FIRE and the fire is spreading quickly and the Marshalls are taking their time getting over there and thank God they get Sainz out in time but it’s a real emergency cluster and now what does that mean for Charles in the lead

• ALONSO WAGS HIS FINGER AT YUKI to tell him off

• CHARLES REPORTS PROBLEMS WITH THE THROTTLE

• CHAOS

• NOW it seems Charles is having to pull the pedal back with his foot every time he presses it!! THIS CANT BE

• Charles has only a couple laps left and Max is catching and Charles car is refusing downshifts and he is still having to pull back the pedal to control the downshifts and will this be a repeat of 2019 Austria when Max passed Charles in the last couple laps, WHAT IS HAPPENING

• Potential release in unsafe conditions for Alonso?

• CHARLES WINS!!!! Max in second!! So much orange smoke goi t off and it’s beautiful

• Both Haas getting points, second weekend in the row for points for lil Schu

• Ugh Hamilton in third
