ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX

Original race dates: December 11 - 13, 2020

Summary: Not a big action weekend, except that Max won his second race of the year from pole! That was really exciting for me. There wasn't a lot of on-track action, though, unless you count the best of the rest constructors championship stuff going on. And it was the season finale. At that point, I really needed a rest. This season was CRAZY.

FP1

• boooo Hamilton is back in the car this weekend even though everyone else who got Covid had to wait 2 weeks and he didn’t have to wait cause special rules for the world champion ugh

• Mick Schumacher is in the Haas for Kevin Magnussen this session

• Kubica is in this session for Gio

• Strong rumor that Yuki Tsunoda is going to drive for Alpha Tauri next year where it’s almost certain

• Hamilton saying something isn’t right in his car right away when he gets back in and says he feels like his car is braking all the time...

• in fact Yuki Tsunoda is on the Alpha Tauri pit wall right now being coached.

• They’re talking about how Kvyat has had a great last few races but he’s not making it easy to let him go

• Discussing Jack Aiken’s drive last weekend and he’s there in the Williams garage right now

• Daniel pulls his Renault over with a problem, most likely engine

• Now Kvyat has a problem and has been told to slow down

• Goes to Virtual safety car and Daniel helps roll it off track

• Albon has a spin :(

• Discussing Mazepin’s disgusting Instagram post from last week after just being announced as a new driver for next year

FP2

• George’s engine blew and started smoking when he got back to the garage

• Kimi’s car started smoking and then started on fire and it was a big fire and he pulled over, for our and no one was coming to put out the fire so when someone came over Kimi took the extinguisher and put it out himself and everyone was amazed he was able to know where to put out the fire better than anyone

• Kimi’s car pulled a red flag but restarted with 5 min left

• Hamilton’s car gave out in the pit lane and stopped blocking Fittipaldi’s garage so he couldn’t get out

• Ocon cut off Albon and everyone was like wow that was rude, why do it

• Everyone’s like something weird is going on at Mercedes

FP3

• APPARENTLY Charles has a three place grid penalty for having been found the main cause of the turn 4 incident at Sakhir RIDICULOUS

• Everyone has special helmets this weekend including George saying thank you to Williams, Charles saying thank you to Seb, etc

Qualifying

• Latifi released right in front of Max in the pit lane and they’re investigating it and Max called them an idiot

• Hamilton has a time deleted for track limits and broke the car trying too hard

• Max’s hand got caught on the wall on the inside of the car because it’s tight in there

• Latifi spins at the end of Q1

• Out in Q1: Kimi, Kevin, Russell, Fittipaldi and Latifi

• Perez didn’t set a time because he was already starting at the back of the grid from penalties and he’d already beaten Fittipaldi who is already starting at the end of the grid

• Gio has two laps deleted

• Out in Q2: Ocon, Daniel, Seb, Gio and Perez

• Max gets pole!!! First non Mercedes pole of the year

• Then Bot then Ham

Race

• surprisingly no one has incident on the opening laps

• Max continues to lead from Pole

• Perez car dies on lap 10 and it’s so sad because they show his dad in the garage and it’s Perez last race so the car just died so not a great time because he won last time and we were really hoping he would do well since he doesn’t have a seat for next year

• Sainz under investigation for going unnecessarily slowly in the pit lane and allowing time for the team to double stack

• MAX WINS for the second time this year!! Bottas in second, Hamilton in third (ha)
