MIAMI GRAND PRIX 2025

The most exciting part of the weekend was waiting for Max's baby to be born!

Practice 

• Max’s first baby Lily was born the day before this!

• Lando has a disco ball helmet

• Ocon impedes Lando

• Ollie Bearman causes a red flag from a spin 

Sprint qualifying 

• Yuki doesn’t make it to the line so gets out in Q1 so starts 18th 

• Jack Doohan is yelling about the bad release Alpine did 

• Antonelli’s first pole, youngest pole ever

Sprint 

• Charles crashed on the way to the grid because of the rain so he won’t be taking part

• Yuki starting last because changing a part 

• It’s so rainy! 

• No one can see anything behind the safety car so multiple laps behind the safety car for formation 

• Standing start after a delay and Oscar gets ahead and while Antonelli goes off and loses many places in first corner

• Chaotic middle where Lando is chasing Oscar for first, Sainz clips the wall and causes debris and an embarrassing loss of tire rubber into the pit, and then Liam Lawson hits Alonso and causes Alonso to crash out 

• People started getting slicks midway through and during the Red Bull pit stop, they released Max into Antonelli which was clearly a huge team mistake and then max gets a 10 second time penalty so that takes him from 4th to 17th

• Safety car for Alonso and that helps Hamilton and Lando gets to win under safety car 

• VERY dramatic sprint with rain delay, Charles crashing out, changing from inters to slicks, multiple crashes during race and Max’s pit lane incident

• Romain Grosjean does the interviews! First time I’ve seen him do that for F1 

Qualifying 

• Hamilton is out in Q2! Only 12th

• Max gets pole despite all odds because it really looked like a McLaren 1-2 

Race

• Rain looming

• Max keeps the lead and Lando loses places in the first lap from second

• Jack Doohan is out for colliding with Liam Lawson. Gosh they are both under pressure 

• Oscar passes Max for the lead and then Lando and Max have a big fight after 

• Virtual safety car for Ollie Bearman’s power unit blowing and then the safety car helps George Russell get past Max for third 

• Third VSC for Gabriel Bortoleto having a car problem

• Hamilton is complaining because Ferrari won’t order Charles to get out of his way and then finally they swap the positions 

• Ferrari wasn’t making the decision and said they’ll get back to him about the swap so Hamilton told them to go have a tea break while they’re at it 

• Liam Lawson retires from damage from his previous crash with Doohan 

• Tsunoda gets penalty for speeding in the pit lane 

• Oscar wins! Lando second, George Russell, Max, Albon, Antonelli, Charles, Hamilton Sainz and Tsunoda
