I'm Ellery and I tell stories. I love the process of creating a story, then bringing it to the world.

I specialize in how the written word and visual media intersect to create a message. My varied career has included experience in film, television, theater, art, digital media, journalism, product design, and writing. With this varied toolkit, I have learned to identify and apply the different strengths of each area to a particular story’s needs, maximizing the ways in which we can attract, engage and delight an audience.

I love a balance between organized structure and creative design. Implementing a well-planned email marketing campaign or organizing a complex set of data brings me as much joy as designing the products being advertised.

As a practicing artist, I work both digitally and traditionally. My traditional media of choice are usually pencil, gouache, or watercolor. Digitally, I have more than fifteen years experience creating in Adobe Photoshop, which I began using consistently in 2007. More recently, I have been using Adobe Illustrator and Procreate to make my vision come to life and work well on Mac, PC and my iPad Pro. 

 

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, making me a midwesterner at heart, but I've lived all over the country pursuing my passion for stories. As of 2023, I am currently based out of the Greensboro - Winston-Salem - High Point area of North Carolina.

My main areas of interest include: creative marketing, branding or brand management, graphic design, opportunities in art and design, and storytelling of any kind.
